ANA Summer Seminar 2006Join us for the ANA’s 38th Annual Summer Seminar, the highlight of the numismatic year, held on the Colorado College campus in beautiful Colorado Springs. Session I dates are Saturday, July 1, to Friday, July 7; Session II, Saturday, July 8, to Friday, July 14, 2006.
Summer Seminar is an opportunity for numismatic scholarship and camaraderie, offering students a wide and varied selection of week-long courses suited for anyone, from the curious beginner to the most advanced numismatist. The low weekly fee includes tuition for the class of your choice, a room in Loomis Dormitory (double occupancy) for six nights (Saturday to Friday), and all your meals. Students also have the option of upgrading to single rooms or selecting air-conditioned, off-campus accommodation and tuition packages in a nearby bed and breakfast or upscale hotel. Young Numismatists (YNs), ages 13 to 22, stay in a Colorado College dormitory with experienced chaperons and mentors. Along with attending classes, YNs participate in a variety of special activities and events. A limited number of scholarships are available through the ANA Outreach Department to qualified YNs. Summer Seminar also offers evening mini-seminars, allowing students to study more than one subject area, and daily bull sessions (entertaining and informative hour-long numismatic presentations and discussions), along with optional tours, special events, lots of great food, gala graduation events, and daily opportunities to visit the ANA Money Museum and Library. All this, plus sunny days, cool nights and low humidity in a beautiful Rocky Mountain setting. Student arrival, check-in, registration and opening ceremonies are on Saturday. Registration opens at 11 a.m.; opening ceremonies begin at 4 p.m. Classes run Sunday through Thursday; mini-seminars are held evenings, Saturday to Tuesday. YN Scholarship Benefit Auctions are on Wednesday. Checkout is on Friday; however, extra nights may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. A full schedule of activities is mailed to all participants as the Summer Seminar draws nearer. Summer Seminar Registration FormCLASS
