
Young Numismatists (YNs)Do you like money? Do you like history? Are you age 22 or younger? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then YOU can be a YN and discover how much fun coin collecting can be! The ANA’s YN Programs offer a variety of opportunities for young collectors to become engaged in numismatics and learn more about the hobby.
YNs, age 13-22, are invited to join other collectors at the annual ANA Summer Seminar in Colorado Springs, where students live on the campus of Colorado College, take week-long classes on numismatics, go on field trips to local attractions and participate in special activities. Full and partial scholarships are available to ANA-member young numismatists - Apply for the YN Scholarship for the 2010 Summer Seminar sessions Along with Summer Seminar, the ANA offers YNs other opportunities to explore and discover the world of money by participating in: By completing hobby-related activities such as creating an exhibit, writing a numismatic article or visiting the ANA Money Museum, YNs can earn auction money to bid on numismatic collectibles at the annual YN auction. As a YN we encourage you to participate in all that the ANA has to offer in addition to programs especially designed for students and young

Each summer, during its World's Fair of Money, the American Numismatic Association presents literary awards to outstanding young writers. Entries are accepted in three categories: The Abe Kosoff Memorial Literary Award is presented to the young numismatist who writes the best article or gives the best talk on a numismatic topic. (Original conclusions are encouraged.) The Gould Memorial Literary Award is given to the young numismatist who writes the best article displaying in-depth numismatic research and individual, specialized involvement with the topic. (The article need not have been published.) The Ray Byrne Memorial Literary Award is bestowed upon the young numismatist who writes the best article displaying in-depth numismatic research and individual, specialized involvement with the topic.
