ANA SUMMER SEMINAR 2006

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATIONS

TRAVEL: When making your 2006 Summer Seminar travel arrangements, please contact the ANA’s official agent, M & M World Travel Service (800-426-8326, or e-mail, pwhitnah@mmworldtravel.com). M & M works closely with the ANA and can provide competitive airline rates.

The ANA has free airport shuttles, picking up and returning students and instructors to the Colorado Springs Airport on Friday (June 30, July 7 and 14) and Saturday (July 1, 8 and 15).

ACCOMMODATIONS: All housing packages include a room for six nights, Saturday to Friday, tuition for the Summer Seminar class of your choice and three meals a day. Most students and instructors stay in Colorado College dormitories. Each double or private room has a window fan, stove or microwave, refrigerator, phone, bedding and towels (no washcloths). For many, staying in the dorm is the highlight of the week. It’s a chance to rub elbows with scores of fellow numismatists and make new friends. Students can select economical double-occupancy rooms or private rooms in Loomis Dormitory, or upgrade to the college’s Western Ridge housing complex, where three or four single-occupancy rooms are grouped “pod style” with a living room, full kitchen and bathroom. Included with your lodging are three meals a day (all you can eat!) in the college cafeteria.

NEW LODGING OPTION FOR 2006: For those seminar participants who like staying on campus but desire air conditioning and a private bath, we have rooms just for you! Colorado College recently purchased and renovated a small local hotel on Nevada Avenue (next to the Conoco) immediately adjacent to campus and two short blocks from ANA. The CC Inn has air conditioned single or double occupancy rooms (some with queen or king size beds!) with private bathrooms.

If you prefer to stay off campus, the ANA offers accommodations at upscale hotels and an elegant bed and breakfast, especially popular with couples. These fill quickly, so make your reservations early!

Antlers Hilton Hotel www.antlers.com
This historic hotel, founded in 1883, is located on Cascade Avenue in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs, approximately 1 mile south of the ANA. It offers spacious guest rooms with all the amenities, an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool, state-of-the-art health club and two full-service restaurants (one with a microbrewery!), a lobby lounge and a morning coffee bar. It is convenient to downtown restaurants, shopping, parks, museums and the Pikes Peak Library.

Best of all, the Antlers is affordable enough for Seminar families. Packages include six nights, Saturday to Friday, tuition and meals (breakfast at the hotel, lunch and dinner at the college). Transportation to Colorado College is available on the free downtown shuttle. Optional adventure packages are available for Seminar families.

The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs www.broadmoor.com
Package option is no longer available. Please contact The Broadmoor directly for information or reservations.
A “five-star,” “five-diamond” luxury hotel nestled in the Rocky Mountain foothills on the outskirts of Colorado Springs, this historic landmark boasts luxurious guest suites with all the amenities, an outdoor swimming pool, two whirlpools, cabanas, paddle boats, horseback riding, biking and hiking trails, eleven world-famous restaurants, three championship golf courses, and a lavish spa.

This luxury package includes a double room for six nights, tuition, meals (breakfast at the Broadmoor's Lake Terrace dining room, lunch and dinner at the college).

Room at the Inn Bed & Breakfast www.roomattheinn.com
Located just four blocks southeast of the ANA, this beautiful inn offers Victorian decor with modern luxuries. The inn is air-conditioned, and rooms have private baths and all the extras (queen-sized beds and comfy sitting areas). There is a relaxing outdoor hot tub, a shady porch and gourmet breakfasts to die for!
