Summer Seminar 2006
Evening Mini-Seminars
Mini-seminars are introductory, hands-on courses conducted in two, or
three three-hour sessions. They allow Seminar students to study more
than one area of interest, or survey something completely new.
Mini-seminars begin after dinner. Classes are limited to 15;
pre-registration is required.

A. Coins of the Roman Republic
Saturday & Sunday, July 1-2, 2006, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Learn about the intriguing political figures, the mysterious gods and
goddesses, and the exciting historical events brought to life on these
first coins issued by the Senate and People of Rome.
Instructor: Scott T. Rottinghaus, M.D. student of the Roman
Republican era.
B. MPC Boot Camp
Saturday & Sunday, July 1-2, 2006, 1830 – 2130 hours
Greetings from the President of the United States. Report for hands-on
duty. Our mission includes basic to advanced study of MPCs. Deserters
will be court-marshaled.

Monday & Tuesday, July 3-4, 2006, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
This introduction to the study of the late 18th century British
tokens
focuses on their history, manufacture, grading and preservation.
