ANA Vision

The American Numismatic Association will be known globally as the preeminent numismatic-based educator and as the premier steward of the most comprehensive numismatic exhibits, the most accessible circulating numismatic research library and as the leading arbiter of standards for the United States’ numismatic community.

To encourage and educate people to study and collect money and related items by promoting, preserving, and protecting the interests of those who desire to “Discover and Explore the World of Money.”

ANA Values

  • The ANA applies the highest teaching and performance standards toward all numismatic education.
  • The ANA is a mentoring organization for preservation of its legacy. Training and education create value; mentoring creates values.
  • We exist to insure each new generation of educators, collectors and industry leaders benefit from our service and experience.
  • Integrity and honesty are at the heart of our values. We will maintain high ethical standards in everything the ANA does. 
  • The ANA will not tolerate anyone who puts his or her personal interests above the collective interest of the ANA, its members or the public it serves.   

Goals

  • Governance & Structure:
           By-laws overhauled to meet 21st century demands including board composition and selection, fiduciary requirements and policy governance.
           ANA becomes standard bearer of ethical governance for the industry, consumer awareness and protection.
  • Outreach:
           Develop and expand programs that promote our educational mission to members, non-members and the industry.
           The Library is a complete and fully accessible global resource for all education programs and numismatic research
  • Museum:
           The museum becomes an accredited entity and leader in exhibition development and promotion and collection portfolio management.
           The museum establishes strategic alliances with 1st tier urban museums on both coasts.
  • ANA Brand:
           The ANA brand will be propelled by a strategic marketing plan that promotes education, accessibility, awareness, and ethics.
           The membership plan will focus point forward on retention and leverage of key member segments for service toward the goals and objectives of the ANA mission. 
  • Fund Development & Financial Health:
           We continue to construct and implement a true development approach that manages funding and proper stewardship for all external sourcing.
           The ANA continues to implement key management processes and financial discipline to insure general and program-specific fiscal viability.
           The ANA will implement a plan and budget aligned with the strategic initiatives approved by the Board.

Major Objectives

  • Provide education for our members and the public to enhance knowledge, professional standards and to elevate the numismatic community
  • Leverage and maximize the value of membership retention and involvement
  • Maintain sufficient organizational and financial resources to support our program growth
  • Improve governance with Board standards, updated charter and by-laws review and adherence
  • Provide market and on-line accessibility for all ANA programs, services and products globally
  • Establish and maintain standards of industry performance to address contemporary challenges for investors
