Using the Library

Whether you choose to write, call, or visit you will discover the ANA Library is one of the most complete numismatic libraries in the world. Our collection of more than 40,000 volumes is at your service. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, coins, paper money, tokens, medals, military orders and decorations, and stocks and bonds. Additionally you will find books about collecting, economics, and banks and banking.

The library also maintains one of the world's finest collections of numismatic periodicals and auction catalogs. A large collection of slide and video programs are available to member clubs and individuals for presentation or personal use.

Members may borrow books, auction catalogs, and slide and video presentations through the mail. Items may be requested by author, title or subject. Requests for auction catalogs should specify the dealer's name and the date of the auction. The books and catalogs are loaned for a period of six weeks. Always include your ANA number to validate your request.

The cost of both outgoing and incoming postage and insurance is the responsibility of the member borrowing the materials. Insurance fees are based on the replacement value of the materials, assuring adequate coverage if the shipment is lost. Unless otherwise requested, materials will be mailed USPS Library Rate.
