A little known annual event, National Coin Week, is sponsored by the American Numismatic Association of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The ANA was chartered by Congress in 1912, and is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating people to study and collect money and related items.
This year National Coin Week will be observed April 20-26, and the theme is “Celebrating Civic Service” and the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy Half Dollar.

Learn about the science behind numismatics at The Big Cool Science Festival at Colorado College on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival is a free, fun filled day of hands-on science adventures. There will be live science demonstrations, tours and engaging activities.

Earlier this week, Andy Dickes and Rod Gillis staffed a table during a meet-and-greet event at the Fine Arts Center, which is right next door to the Edward C. Rochette Money Museum. The event was for educators in the Colorado Springs region to learn about educational opportunities available from various local organizations.

The Money Museum recently loaned some Spanish 8 real silver pieces to the Texas Capitol Visitors Center for its exhibit, "On the Run: Currency, Credit and Capitals of the Republic of Texas."

The Tampa Bay Coin Club donated two of their club medals to the Money Museum at FUN this year. The first medal struck in this commemorative series was in 2013 and celebrates the 500th Anniversary of Florida’s discovery by Ponce De Leon. ...
