PMG to Introduce Star Designation for Exceptional Eye Appeal

Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) will begin to designate notes that exhibit exceptional eye appeal with a Star at the June 12-15 Memphis International Paper Money Show. PMG graders will conduct on-site grading at the show and all notes submitted will be eligible for the PMG Star Designation.

Whitman Publishing releases new multiple-volume Encyclopedia on Obsolete Paper Money

Whitman Publishing announces the impending release of volumes 1 and 2 of the Whitman Encyclopedia of Obsolete Paper Money, by Q. David Bowers. Each volume is an 8.5 x 11 inch hardcover book printed in full color on high-quality paper. Volume 1 is "An Introduction for Collectors and Historians." Volume 2 is the first of three volumes on the New England states. The books will debut at the Memphis International Paper Money Show, June 12, 2014. After that they will be available from booksellers and hobby shops nationwide and online (including at www.Whitman.com) for $39.95 each. The books can also be borrowed for free as a benefit of membership in the American Numismatic Association through the Dwight N. Manley Numismatic Library.

BEP to release first 2014 Intaglio print at National Money Show

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is pleased to introduce its 2014 Intaglio Print Subscription Program, “Defenders of Freedom,” which went on sale Monday, Feb. 3, 2014. The first card, Army, will be released on February 27 in conjunction with the BEP’s participation at the American Numismatic Association’s National Money Show in Atlanta, Ga.
