Doug Bird

Bird received a B.A. in industrial relations from Loyola University
of Los Angeles and held management positions with several major
corporations. Enjoying coin collecting from an early age, he joined
Early American Coppers (EAC) in 1975, started Douglas F. Bird, Inc
in 1986 and began specializing in U.S. colonials, half cents and
large cents. Doug is a 25 year member of the ANA and the 1992
recipient of the Professional Numismatic Guild's Sol Kaplan Award.
He co-teaches the Early American Coppers class at the American
Numismatic Association's Summer Seminar as well as sponsoring the
Early American Copper Coin Project for the ANA.
