Whitman Publishing Releases New Bowers Book on Hard Times Tokens

(Atlanta, Georgia) — Whitman Publishing announces the release ofA Guide Book of Hard Times Tokens, by Q. David Bowers. The 320-page softcover book (number 17 in the popular Bowers Series) will debut at the Whitman Coin and Collectibles Expo in Baltimore,March 26, 2015. In the meantime copies can be pre-ordered from booksellers and hobby shops nationwide, and online (including atwww.Whitman.com), for $29.95. The book can also be borrowed for free as a benefit of membership in the American Numismatic Association, through the Dwight N. Manley Numismatic Library.

Whitman Publishing Calls for Cherrypickers’ Guide Volunteers

(Atlanta, Georgia) — Whitman Publishing is calling for volunteers as it prepares the latestCherrypickers’ Guide to Rare Die Varieties of United States Coins. The next book in the series will be the sixth edition, volume I, covering half cents, large cents, Flying Eagle and Indian Head cents, Lincoln cents, two- and three-cent pieces, Shield nickels, Liberty Head nickels, Buffalo nickels, and Jefferson nickels. The deadline for volunteered information isFriday, October 31, 2014.
