ANA announces safety procedures for U.S. Mint purchases at the 2014 World’s Fair of Money

The American Numismatic Association today announces the following public-safety procedures for collectors who wish to buy the dual-dated 50th anniversary Kennedy gold proof coins that will go on sale at the Chicago World’s Fair of Money, to be held in Rosemont, Ill, on Aug. 5-9.

640 Mint of Poland Coins reported missing and presumed stolen

The American Numismatic Association received a report that 640 Mint of Poland coins disappeared during transit between March 14 and March 16 and are presumed stolen. The coins were en route from the Mint of Poland to Cypress, Texas. Ziggy Serwecinski, ANA Life Member and owner of Coin Matrix, Inc., says his missing coins are valued at approximately $23,000.

U.S. Mints first steam press to strike medals for ANA

The first steam press used by the United States Mint will strike medals for the American Numismatic Association (ANA). It also will be on display at the ANA World's Fair of Money next summer in Philadelphia and at the Association's Money Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado after the show.
