Attendance strong during National Coin Week Open House

The American Numismatic Association welcomed nearly 400 visitors to an open house on April 25 at the Edward C. Rochette Money Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The event was held as part of the 2015 National Coin Week.

Agood screw press in the early 19th century had the ability to generate 15 to 20 tons of pressure per strike and could produce about 30 coins per minute. Not bad for a machine that had to be operated by hand.

Winners Announced for 2011 ANA National Coin Week Activities

Congratulations to Matthew Tormey and the Tucson Coin Club, grand prize winners in theANA’s 2011 National Coin Week activities. Tormey, a Massachusetts native and ANA YoungNumismatist, receives a mint state 1864 two cent piece for finishing first in the Civil War videoscavenger hunt. The Tucson Coin Club took first place in the ANA’s club trivia challengeand receives a 1925 Stone Mountain half dollar.
