1928 peace dollar (with that pesky little S)
I just finished reading a blog by coin_lady which inspired me to post this.
This silver dollar is one of my very favorites. As an history major (long ago) I always found this message very poignant, given that it was minted after the 'war to end all wars'. It's idealistic message speaks volumes as to the feelings of the American public at that time. A time when we were less jaded, somehow. Since my preteen years, I have periodically taken this coin out and looked at it in an effort to take me back to those years before I , myself, became so dis enthralled

The last of the great coins. The Mint should never have started putting past Presidents on coins. Great deeds by them but nothing says life liberty and the pursuit of happiness like Lady Liberty!

It is a nice coin series & the original thought behind it was admirable - I have a few & I will look at them differently now - Thanks Funk & keep them coming . Everyone here seems pretty nice & you picked a good place to start - Just be yourself

I love Peace Dollars. I would like a complete set but now I only have about thirteen. Some slabed some raw. I like to hold the raw ones. There so underrated. I have the variety it's nice. Thanks for taking the time to write about one of my favorite coins. And you don't have to be Italian longstrider to like them. We Irish like them to.!

I love Peace dollars. They are easily my favorite. I have a completed Dansco album of them and from time to time I see a coin I like better than the one in the album. Upgrade!! As an Italian I definitely enjoy Teresa de Francisci's portrait by her husband Anthony. A nice, big silver coin! P.S. You can't go wrong using CoinLady as a blog model. In my opinion.

You're welcome , ma'am I was unsure of the tone and content of what I should write in my blog Should I be sterile and technical in my descriptions? And then I saw what you have written and how you convey information with heart It's encouraged me to show some license in my prose Will take some practice to reach your level of style and substance Thanks again
