The Pride of Nova Scotia

When we think of Canada, we think of Beavers, the McKenzie Brothers, Moose, Maple Leaves, and maybe Poutine. But you probably do not think of Bluenose. Bluenose is a fishing/racing schooner built in Lunenburg Nova Scotia and launched in 1921. She has been featured continuously on the reverse of the Canadian dime since 1937 (except for 1967).

Rolling Along on Canadian Tires

When most of us think of a McDonald's character, we think of Ronald McDonald, or the Hamburgler, etc. But in Canada, you might think of Sandy McDonald, the personification of Canadian Tire. Canadian Tire is a chain of stores in Canada that are roughly similar to Walmart and Target (with gasoline).

A Saturday Well Spent

It's hard to believe it has been a whole year since I last attended a coin show. So much has happened this last year, some bad, some worse. So, it was with a joyful heart that I left home and traveled route 19 south toward the Crowne Plaza Hotel and the 61st annual South Hills Coin Club coin show.
