The Story of the 1804 Dollar

After reading the recent blog post about 1913 Liberty V Nickels, I decided I should make a post about a different ‘legendary’ coin. The first coin that came to mind was the 1804 Dollar. I was lucky enough to see both a 1913 Liberty V Nickel and an 1804 Dollar at a coin show in Vegas (as a matter of fact, my tables that I had at the show were right next to these coins).

The Dollar Project

This being the last month that I am young enough to participate in 'The Dollar Project' I decided to complete the activity. It was quite fun (and interesting). I must say that the coin rubbing was probably my favorite part. After I completed the project, I sent it off to be assessed, and I received 5 BEAUTIFUL coins! Four from the US, and one from Canada. 1937 D Three Legged Buffalo Nickel

I thought this was a cool coin. I purchased it at a fairly low price. Genuine - Moth-Eaten back leg, E and P in E Pluribus Unum are not touching the bison's back. I have assessed quite a few of these coins, and have never seen one this beat up.

The Golden Gift

When I visited my Grandmother and Grandfather, they showed me some of their coins. Among these coins were tens of thousands of Lincoln cents in which I went through, LOADS of junk silver (like Morgan Dollars), and these 3 gold coins. They ended up giving the three gold coins to me!!! Hence the title, "TheGoldenGift".I have posted pictures of the trio above. Two of them are from the United States, and the last one is from Tuvalu. They all have about the same amount of gold in them. Here is a summary of each coin:
