What looks like you are calling a dot is in the right place to be genuine. I definately would pay to have it slabbed, graded and authenticated. The last one sold for a cool quarter of a million

There's a dot and a scratch , it's hard to see in certain light. I'll have it looked at ASAP

Sorry, but it looks a little like damage, maybe its not, but it is very unlikely that you just found one.

And you're right there is damage which makes it harder to see. There's a scratch, but there's definately also the raised dot. I ll get it checked out of course:)

I know I need to take some better pictures. It's part of a collection that my dad and grandfather left me. I would ask them about it, it but it's too late unfortunately. I wish I'd gotten into coins earlier. It's been in a safety deposit box for 30 years. I Just now going through them all, very exciting!

Very cool! You should submit that one to PCGS for grading and preservation! How did you acquire it? BTW welcome to our community!

Your pictures are not well focused. I kind of doubt yours is authentic given the extreme rarity of the dot version. But if you found it, and it is authentic, then you have an amazing find that will soon garner tons of publicity.

Only 3 known to exist! Just looked up this coin. I doubt I have one either. My Canadian cent coins are some of my favorite. Bought before internet. Used to mail away for some from a coin dealer listed in a coin magazine. Those were the days !

Nice coin. I need to look at my canadian cent books. I was all into Canada cents years ago. Filled 4 whitman books of Canadian cents starting with 1920. Wonder what my 1936 cents look like? Should have 4 of them. Always liked Canadian coins. Thanks for posting as I will get out my cents and reminisce.

Nice find, Canadian coins are nice, and it is incredible how many older coins you can find in US pocket change, not normally this old, but late 50, 60s, and up. Wondering if someone got into old change jar, that's a lot older than most, and it's not been in circulation, looks too good. Nice find!

user_42907

Not an old change jar, just going through a collection that was my father's. I literally knew nothing about coins until a couple months ago,but now im pretty obsessed. Thank goodness, or I never would've found this coin!
