production of the liberty seated dollar for circulation has ended in 1873 The denomination was elimination by general revision of the nations coinage laws that year. gold dollars were minted in the meantime The act of february 18, 1878 known as the bland allison act, resumed coinage of the silver dollar. fresh new designs were created for the occasion . the new morgan dollar will be strucked every year from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921 the coins production benenfited western silver interest by creating a fake federal demand for the metal the market value of silver has dropped sharply by 1878 and the mining felt the pinch. this blog is a short summary of the morgan dollar
