Historical and collectible stocks and bonds
Historical and collectible Stocks and Bonds compliment coin collecting really well. In fact it is a segment of the numismatic field of collectibles which isn't mentioned very much. The hobby of collecting historical and collectible stocks and bonds is called scripophily. Scripophily was invented by taking the word scrip and philia, a form of brotherly love, otherwise known as the hobby of the love of scrip "scripophily." It's a fun hobby to be a part of. You can collect a game board set which includes various Railroads from the "Monopoly" game. There are old game board sets and new ones. Alternatively, you can collect a set of Americas Greatest Corporations with their respective histories in an album with protective page holders for your historical and collectible stocks and bonds.
One area of collecting historical and collectible stocks and bonds would be to find valuable extinct securities. There are actually some extinct securities that have value. One share of an old derivative stock could be worths millions sometimes if the company is still active or merged, split numerous times and the share was never cancelled.

Stock certificate collecting is very popular for four groups - Certificate collectors, coin collectors, stamp collectors (as they often have revenue stamps attached), and autograph collectors. They are also fun just to see the artwork that is comparable to that of Bank Notes. OH NO !!! I think I have just started another collection..

I only wish they were wort what they said. The engraving is absolutely beautiful along with the quality of the paper. There are collectors out there but not to many. Once there cased they destroy these beauties that's a shame. Thanks again Mike.

The engraving on some of these certificates is really lovely. Paper money fans may like to branch out into this.

Thank you for you comment Kepi. Scripophily is enjoyable. You could buy a cancelled stock certificate of US Steel and display it with a set PDS 1943 steel cents. US Steel supplied the steel to the US Government for the minting of the steel cents.
