Wholesale Coin Pricing

| user_55494

Hi everyone, so apparently my last blog got taken down for "advertising" when I was simply just looking for input. Anyways, I am a very quantitative person and am very analytical. Because of this, I very much dislike pricing wholesale coins as there is no exact science for it. On the contrary, I am trying to create one by adding deflators to many inflated sources. Let B be bluebook values, R be redbook, G be greysheet, N be NGC Price Guide, PCGS be P,HA be HA, Ebay be Eb. Also I will be adding X to be a wow factor whether it has a CAC sticker, or cool toning, etc). Also let N be # of input values(0.9B+.66R+G+0.7N+0.7P+HA+Eb+X)/NObviously this is not a perfect science and therefore I have added a $15+/- room for error, which I believe is a reasonable marginPlease let me know if this seems accurate, or if you think I should change anything, I am all ears so please be responsive to whether or not this seems reasonable for wholesale pricing.Thank you,Ellis Landauer

Future of buying and selling coins online

| user_55494

Hello everyone and good day! Today I am here because I created a new business venture. So many people including me have experienced a fraudulent coin transaction online, in addition to almost becoming a victim of one. This is why I am starting The Coin Marketplace. This platform will be a secure platform where a third party(me) mediates a secure and verified coin transaction. If you buy, sell, or trade coins or bullion, be sure to give a follow and check it out. My goal is to help out as many people as possible while providing a safe space within the industry where you don't have to worry about fraud and scams. If you have any questions, you can ask them here or dm me on Instagram. This is anything but a scam, and I hope you see that. I am currently working on the ANA Diploma Program, and am working on getting a corporation license in the state of Florida.  Thank you for listening, and happy collecting!@thecoinmarketplace on Instagram :)

1 in a Million?!

Coins | user_55494

Hello everyone, I hope your having a good day. I recently purchased a bulk lot of world coins from some third party auction site. After sorting through it many times I slowly picked out the silver and old dated coins. At first I saw this 20 Lira Italy coin and thought the design was pretty amazing and unlike most coins I have seen. Tonight, I was cataloging my collection and searching through my Standard Catalog of World Coins and was confused at first but then after multiple times reading over, I think I found a 1927 20 Lire V. I attached a photo because I seriously cannot tell if my mind is playing me. According to my book, it is very rare and has a mintage of 100 and priced in the thousands. Can someone please confirm so I can get it slabbed right away! However, there is also a chance that it is counterfeit because of its rarity. Any help? Thank you,Ellis Landauer

Unknown Ancient Judea Coin

Ancient Coins | user_55494

Hello ANA! This past high school semester, I participated in a study abroad to Israel, where much of my family history is. Aside from learning about all of the ancient history that occurred there thousands of years ago, I also was so exited to find some ancient coins at the flea markets. I bought this coin for around 50 shekels (around 15-16 dollars). This seems to be an bronze or copper coin from BCE, and I am assuming it is a prutah, or a small denomination of Judean coins. I have recently been doing some research about other coins from this time when all of a sudden I remembered I have one! Since this realization, I have not been able to sleep and have been researching for days, looking through archives and reading information. Based on my research, I am almost certain it is a real coin, and not a counterfeit, and I feel that it has some potential to be identified. With one side being in better condition than the other (I'm not sure which is the rev. or obv.!), I can see some Greek lettering, and figures surrounding the entire side, signifying that it may have been created during Hellenistic Judean times (Hasmonean Dynasty). However, I still cannot identify it! I can also see some Greek lettering on the other side. Well despite still researching, I was wondering if safely cleaning the coin, and removing some dirt and corrosion, while still keeping the patina intact, maybe with water and a soft toothbrush, and / or toothpick (of course no drying off with a towel!). Well despite still researching it, I also wanted to mention that I am keeping it in a two by two cardboard flip, and hoping to maintain the coins integrity. If anyone reading this has any idea what coin this or how to identify it, please let me know! Also, if anyone has any tips and pointers on restoring it, also be sure to leave a comment! Moving on to some details I noticed on this coin, I noticed  a person like figure next to the striated larger figure (could be a harp!). I also am 75% certain that there is an omega symbol on the bottom, further indicating that this coin is linked to Greek origin.  One other thing I was wondering is if anyone has any information on how to take better and clearer pictures of coins, either a device, or techniques using loupes, because these lousy photos are using my phone camera. Anyways, if you have any idea or have any pointers or info, be sure to leave a comment, or you can leave me an email at ellislandauer@gmail.com. Thank you for reading if you got this far!- Ellis Landauer

Weimar Republic Coin

Coins | user_55494

Hello, this post is in regard to a new coin I have acquired on my German coin journey. This coin is a 1927 coin which has an obverse with Ernst August Koenig Von Hannover. Underneath the portrait, it says "Nach Brehmer" and underneath that is "H.S.".  The reverse contains a portrait of the Hoff Theatre in Germany.  Above the theatre is "Ehem.Kon.Hof-Theatre Zu Hannover" In addition, there is "Laves Archt" and again "Nach Brehmer"  underneath the portrait. Underneath those words, there is a text "Zur Brinnbrung an Diss 75 Jaerige Jubelfeier am 1 September 1927".  Translates to For the celebration of this 75 year anniversary on September 1, 1927. This coin is supposedly made in .750 silver according to the person who first collected this coin. I got this coin off of an auction site, hence, I have no idea about the origins or numismatic value of the coin. I would like to believe that it is a token or medal given to the Germans who went to the 75th anniversary of this theatre in 1927. For those who don't know, I am of Jewish-German Heritage and my family was persecuted by the Nazis. I have made it a personal project to collect coins from this era and send the collections to different Holocaust Museums to help with the remembrance of the atrocities of the Nazi party, or the German Nationalsozialistische Arbeiterpartei. If anyone has any idea of what this coin is or where it came from, feel free to either leave a comment, or email me at ellislandauer@gmail.com. Thank you for reading!

Third Reich Coin Project

Coins-World | user_55494

Hello, my name is Ellis Landauer and I am a 15 year old member of the ANA and the Youth Numismatist program. I am a Jew and much of my family history lays in Germany and parts of Europe. Being that I am Jewish and of European descent, my family unfortunately had a run in with the Nazi's and their Third Reich regime. My project is to use the money I acquired from my Bar-Mitzvah a few years ago to buy Third Reich coins off of auction sites and donate them to Holocaust Museums and memorials instead of letting the coins going into the hands of Nazi sympathizers and other anti-Semites. My first and most recent set of coins I acquired was a group of 2 and 5 Reichsmark coins dating from 1935 to 1939, all years the Nazi party was in power, and all years the Jews were being discriminated against and killed from the Nuremberg laws set during late 1935. I have already messaged a few Holocaust Museums regarding loaning the coins for an exhibit. In addition, I found many coins from the German Empire, specifically 1/2 Marks, and 1 Mark coins which museums also enjoy to present because of the "life before" aspect of the coins history. Throughout the 30+ coins from my recent purchase from a police auction site, over 5 of them were rated Almost Circulated or better, which in my opinion is outstanding considering they range from 1875-1939. In addition to purchasing Nazi artifacts (specifically coins), I have also searched the internet looking for coins and artifacts from private sellers asking them to please either take down the artifacts (as to not profit from the torture of millions of people), or to send them to me so I can add it to my donation project. Not to my surprise, all of the private companies either ignored me or hung up from my calls almost immediately after mentioning donations. I just could not understand how people would want to profit from the demise of millions and the continuing suffering from anti-Semitic acts, to this day. If anybody has any sort of Nazi memorabilia of any type, or artifacts of any type in addition to Jewish artifacts from the concentration camps and ghettos(many military members who helped liberate the camps and ghettos kept photographs or memorabilia, and many people still have them today) , I would very much appreciate it if you would consider lending them to your local Holocaust Museum or Memorial or even large museums such as ones in Washington DC, New York, Germany, or even Israel. If you know of any auction sites, or private sellers that sell items that meet the criteria I mentioned, please email me at ellislandauer@gmail.com or message or call me at 786-403-8418 Thank you for reading this :)-Ellis Landauer
