Star Notes!
As you may know Star notes or replacement notes. are notes that replace faulty or notes that went wrong. About 1 in 100 notes will have Star notes. Some can be worth a lot while other not so much. Today I found 2 Star notes and they are the first Star notes I’ve found. If you look next to the serial number if there’s a star it’s a Star note. Many people have been posting about these Star notes like thatcoinguy who did an informational blog about them and AC coin$ who shared a bunch of them. So I decided to show the ones I found today with you.
The tellers at my bank have been nice and give me lots of stuff to sort so I would like to shout out them for being patient and kind. If you haven’t already been search for these you might want to give it a go because they aren’t too hard to find like some other coins. Usually my blogs will be about coins but I have gotten into notes too.
I’ve decide to now do a review on the monthly YN auction lots which if you are a YN and have earned YN Dollars you can bid on. All you have to do is go to the home page of money.org and scroll down to YN Program then click on YN auction and you type on name, email, ANA membership #, and the lot you would like to bid on and you can bid as many as you have and hope you win. But you have to big by the 15th of each month or you can’t bid anymore. Anyway I will start doing a review of these lots my thought, is it a good price, and a little bit of information in case you (if your a YN) want to bid on these lots!
I just want to say if you read that blog about the 1908-O Barber Dime it turns out I made a mistake. I was looking at it and say it was actually a 1906-O Barber Dime so just wanted to let you know! Luckily it was going to be put in my type set anyway!
As you know I like to keep my blogs short and sweet so thanks for reading my blog and have a great day!

mrbrklyn is right; Barber designed his coins to wear well in circulation. The renascence coins of that era are beautiful in uncirculated condition but are ugly as circulated coins. I also have several nice Barber coins in my collection. On another note, I had a friend some years back that was a Barber collector, and people kept ribbing him over whether the image of Liberty was a male or a female. I thought male because it looked male, but he corrected me on that point. It seems that Miss Liberrty has her hair modestly tucked under her cap.

I have been lucky. I have some rare ones graded but I like the silver certificate. Especially the horse blanket

Walter Breen gave Baber a bad name he didn't deserve. Oh - he was a PIA, but he understood what would make a coin work when it was circulated as wore. Barber designs that are circulated are sharp and attractive.

Barber did have a bad name. (Karen Lee St. Goudins Sketch Book). In it she has copy of the actual letters trying to keep St Gaudin out of the U.S.Mint. His son also joined the campaign. It was a terrible time. Thank the lord the Barbers did not stop him.

The Barber series is a nice one to pursue further. A set in the fine-very fine range is surprisingly within most budgets, even for the semi-key dates.
