Welp…

Coins | thatcoinguy

Hello fellow YNs and YNH!

Over the past two days I sorted 58 rolls of quarters. No West Point Mint. No silver. I am currently looking through them again for errors, and have two possible ones so far. The pic on the left has two quarters. The quarter on the right in the left pic appears to have bolder lettering on "United States Of America." The quarter on the left in the photo on the right appears to also have thicker lettering. In addition to that, it also has circular markings close to the rim which I think might be a doubled or tripled rim? Help me out here @CoinHunter.

Yours truly (for now w quarterless),

thatcoinguy.

P.S. I'm supposed to be hit by the aftermath of Hurricane Elsa, and I may lose power, so I might not post for the next few days.

P.P.S. Yes, it is called Hurricane Elsa. Just "Let It Go!"

P.P.P.S. Welp is a new word. I even wrote it in my dictionary.

As far as the coin with a bolder United States Of America, the design is a little different than the other coin because the one with thicker lettering is a state quarter. They revised the obverse design for the national park quarters. As far as some cool errors/varieties to look for, here are of the cooler ones to look for: 2020-P Salt River Bay DDO (In God We Trust has an extreme spread), 2019-P American Memorial Park DDO (Same kind of doubling as the 2020-P SRB), and look at any Colorado and West Virginia state quarters for a sizable cud error on the reverse. Nice blog and nice new avatar. Keep hunting! -Thanks, CoinHunter

Alright! I still have some of the rolls, so I will relook through them to see if there is one. Thanks, @CoinHunter!

Searching for errors and varieties is something I need to do more of. As for your quarters, it's quite possible.

That was a lot of rolls. Surprised you didn't find a W or a silver!

Here is the You Tube link to that webinar. It's presented by Sam, the Y'N. king: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih9q3OpGhpI

I can't see it either... sorry. You should invest in a CherryPickers Guide by Bill Fivaz and J.T. Stanton

Just a suggestion, do not place your coins on a busy background when asking for an opinion and also try and make the pictures larger. It is hard to make out any detail with those two sets of pictures.

OK, thanks!

I cannot see what your talking about because of the picture quaility. In the mean time I would do as Longstrider says.

Looks like coin roll machine marks from the photos. You will see them a lot. The rim isn't made during the stamping. It is made during the upsetting process. Study the webinar, in the ANA, on the Modern Minting Process. It will be time well spent. Good luck.

Ok. Thanks for the insight.
