Die Clash Galore! | Coin Update #36

| CoinHunter

Hello all!

Today I have some cool variety finds to share, and an announcement regarding my collections on this website, so let’s begin shall we!

I was recently privileged enough to pick up the following rolls of coins: 42 rolls of cents, 2 rolls of nickels, 2 rolls of dimes, and 15 rolls of quarters. Unfortunately, I didn’t find any silver, Ws, and anything else crazy, but I did find several nice doubled dies and a several die clashes (although all but one are very minor). Among some other varieties that I haven’t been able to sort through completely yet, I found a 2016 WDDR-001 cent (my first really strong DDR shield cent), a 2021 cent with a strike-through (this coin is very interesting since the strike-through gives the impression that Abraham Lincoln is a zombie), a 2021 cent with a decently strong clash (the exact same clash as the one I found 2 updates ago), a 2021 cent with a minor clash, a 2019 cent with a minor clash, another 2021 cent with a minor clash, a 2012 WDDO-001 cent, a 2021 with a nice unlisted DDO, a 2020 with a nice unlisted DDR, a 2013 WDDR-005 and a 2016 with a minor clash.

I am going to answer question that some of you guys may be pondering, why did I find so many clashes? Well, it has to do with the fact that since I am checking shield cents for doubled dies I naturally have to check LIBERTY for any doubling. And since most minor shield cent clashes so best behind Lincoln’s head (to the right of LIBERTY) it is pretty easy to notice any minor clashes that are in the coins I am hunting. Even though the minor ones are not that rare (and are very minor), I am still going to keep them for now.

I also recently updated some of my collections on this website. I updated my display case collection and my silver stash collection. The amazing thing is that because I hadn’t updated my silver stash collection in about a year, it was drastically different. When I originally made the collection on this website, it was only about 6 ounces worth, but now it is over 25 ounces worth!

Anyways, thanks for reading this blog, enjoy the pics, and have a great day!! -CoinHunter

Great finds. You are by far the most productive error hunter of rolls I know. Are you using a microscope for all your searching? Just wondering. Like a USB scope. Thanks.

Yes, I use a digital microscope for all of my hunting (although it isn't USB). Thanks.

Oh my gosh! I guess I should sort 2021 cents if they have that many die clashes! Errors are usually hard to find for me, but you make it look easy.

The 2021 die clashes are fairly common, just look at them closely for a line behind Abe's head. Thanks.

I learn a lot from your finds. Fond it very interesting and makes me check change. 25 ounces of silver from searching is very nice. Keep the finds coming. Love seeing the finds.
