sorting coins for the last 2 weeks
Sorting coins for the last couple of weeks trying to get organized. Hope to find some beauties one of these days. Worked on Wing Liberty dimes , Indian nickels, and some Jefferson Nickels. My mother-in-law dropped off some coins for me to look at and she like so many senior citizens are getting ripped off by the shysters with the copy of the $20 gold piece, presidential dollar rolls and more. It is so sad they take these people for their hard earned money for a lot of crap.

People who don't know coins are taken by these offers. When they go to sell, they have a rude awakening. They come away angry, believing that numismatics is a scam.

Now this is a blog.. Didn't want you to think I was picking on you. You are correct. There are a ton of crocked dealers out there. On T.V., eBay and everywhere. Maybe you could take her to your dealers and help her out? Good luck!

They do it with everyone. No collectors are safe. Counterfeit coins at shows. NGC with slabed fake Morgan's I can go on but you get the picture. I use a scale loops everything books the latest list of fakes on the market I've been lucky never got stuck I know my sellers for years. I limit to what I buy from eBay. I check all the feedback use all the tools we have. Thanks for the warning. Mike.
