NGC down-graded NGC FS Jefferson nickels submitted for new holders only

Found the reverse pic on GC which sold me the coin in 2015.  Great company to still have the image online and accessible!  Note the slab is pre 2004.  In 2004 NGC began using the 5FS and 6FS designations.  Prior to 2004 only 6FS coins were labeled FS by NGC.  This distinguished their old FS coins as higher quality than those of PCGS which gave the FS label to 5FS coins.  NGC policy is (was?) to re-holder those as 6FS (see above).  So, either NGC mis-graded the coin originally or mislabeled the coin during the recent re-holder.  In either case this is an NGC generated problem that only NGC can fix.  Seems NGC institutional memory is fading.

Not good for sure when you have a FS6 and its regraded FS5 just because you want a fresh holder. I wonder about all high graded coins. Ive seen so many crusty looking MS67 coins and blast white MS66. Full steps grading should be straight forward.

Received a 'wait out' from NGC customer service.  The representative is asking the receiving manager for feedback on what she did and why.  All seems clear to me: NGC has made a mistake and needs to make this right.

It sounds like NGC has really not trained its personnel properly.
