Sorry I have to disagree with this assumption. If you are lucky enough to ever be published in a professional publication one needs a bibliography. Especially in peer reviewed papers. No "assumptions" are allowed. If you state a fact, prove where it came from. Just the way it is in the real world. Thanks for the thoughts.

I would only not use a bibliography in a blog where it is unnecessary. If it were a numismatic publication in which I posted an article, which I highly doubt, I would certainly use one.
