Let's put ideas and feedback here

COINSBYGARY: The web developer is actually working on this feature at the moment. It should come out in the next couple weeks. Be sure to give us feedback when it comes out.

Following   DISCOVER --> EVENTS --> SUBMIT AN EVENT takes me to a page where I can fill in a form for an event to be listed in The Numismatist issue that will come out in 8+ weeks.  That covers the printed journal.   Is this the place to submit an event for listing somewhere on this web site?

It would be nice on the my collection to have a next and previous button, so you can just scroll through peoples collections.

I noticed when adding a collection that I easily reached the max characters in the description boxes. It would be nice to note the max characters in the boxes so people can plan on the max characters in their descriptions.

There should be a privacy option for your collection like "Only friends can view", "People I follow can view", "Private (Only I can view)", "Public", etc. Also, we can make a link in maybe "Community" or "Discover" to see all the collections people have posted.

Oh, there already is a function to choose who can view. Maybe we can add more options? (Friends, etc.)

Hi Jake,

I wanted to report a few bugs on the site.

1) Website page layout and formatting seem clean for Chrome and Firefox browser, however on IE8 the page formatting is askew.

2) Private messages seem to be truncated to around 160 characters in the main view (when trying to view a second time) with no ability to expand.

3) Updating an existing collection (from Draft) and trying to make Public does not send a request when clicking Save to apply the changes. (Submit form might not be working?)

4) Trying to save a collection Cover Image (after a draft collection was already created) also does not send the request on Save (similar to above).

Other than that, site navigation seems quite responsive! Good work :)

When I click on MY PROFILE. it asks me to create one. It doesn't take me to what I have created, my.blogs, friends etc.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. To answer a couple of the most recent comments/suggestions ...

1) Website page layout and formatting seem clean for Chrome and Firefox browser, however on IE8 the page formatting is askew.

Indeed, that is the case with IE8. The current website is using what's called responsive design, which IE8 is mostly too old to handle. I'm afraid there isn't much we can do there other than encourage you to use anything but IE8. Sorry!

2) Private messages seem to be truncated to around 160 characters in the main view (when trying to view a second time) with no ability to expand.

We kept the character count short on purpose so that the messaging system wouldn't turn into a haven for spammers. The idea was that members would use the web system to make short introductions, then communicate via email when wishing to communicate longer pieces.

3) Updating an existing collection (from Draft) and trying to make Public does not send a request when clicking Save to apply the changes. (Submit form might not be working?)

4) Trying to save a collection Cover Image (after a draft collection was already created) also does not send the request on Save (similar to above).

We're still having some buggy issues with photos, and it mostly seems to be concentrated in the MyCollections area. Our developers are working on this.

When I click on MY PROFILE. it asks me to create one. It doesn't take me to what I have created, my.blogs, friends etc.

CERGRADER, I assume you get this message despite being logged in, right? You should get a URL that looks like this: http://www.money.org/collector/cergrader.

Let me know what browser you're using and I'll see if I can troubleshoot this one.

Good suggestions! Let me see what I can do with them. :)

Thanks Jake. I am using Chrome. When I click on MY ANA,  then My Profile it takes me to Create Profile. Maybe that's correct? Or maybe it's supposed to direct me to that URL you mentioned above? Oh and yes, I am logged in.
