A plate coin is a coin that is used in a reference book. Someone sees your coin likes it and they use a picture of it in the reference book. Thanks for the picture . Do you know what book it was in? You can tell that's it's a beauty just look at it. I would love to have one . MS 68. I doubt it they find any higher. You will be top pop for a long time!!

I'm not sure what plate coin is, but I know top pop means that it is top of the population, none are graded finer.

Plate refers to the one shown in a book, usually the Red Book. And naturally, these almost always carry a premium. Pop 9/10 would be nine in 68 with ten graded higher.
