Ok I Went And Bought One

Coins | Mike

Ok the secret is out. Yes i did pick up a 2019 proof Uncirirculaded silver dollar. Why . Well we buy what we like. Yes this is a man made rarity. So why? I wanted to pass something nice to the kids.. But as my friend will tell you this was not about the highest bid. This seller had i dont believe him but you dont know what to believe but he had a thousand of them.. So out came the caculature. I always said buy in your budget. I asked Pay Pal if i could have six months of interest free. No problem. Here came the hard part. I noticed a seller who had many of the proof 69. Now the bidding had slowed. I called and asked him a question. How many do you have.? Would you like and help me sell them.i said no thanks im not set up for that. I continued to watch the bids.slow.They were lower.and lower. Now for you who werent here for this Caous. The mint decided to end the series with a special eagle. Only 30,000 and i have no idea how many collector there are some.say 20 million collectors. I dont know how.many there are. But when the clock struck 12p.m. E.S.T. 90 000 were in there bags. I was on and kicked me of. My friend got to check out and was down out. An instant sellout at the mint. It was crazy. They wanted tens of thousands for these. My friend said Mike the price will drop So now im watching one coin. I new the bidding had stopped . Less than a day to go. My bid went up. I didnt need six months now about four. Thats not a hundred a month but it was vert much in the bufget. Some buyers waite till the last minute and snipe you. Didnt happen!! I had won all the work came to an end got it last year. But i smashed the mint on what they did. I waited and gave many people q.chance. . As my friend said they will drop i never thought would win with that bid. Others were selling higher What im trying to say is bidding is hard on a budget but you can do it. I did you can. I also at the time checked the NGC verification app. They had it doubled than my bid. So i pulled the trigger. There is a science to bidding when your on a budget. I only bought three tokens since then they will be paid.ahead of time. Because of the bid and how much i had to bid n with. Thanks Mike

Coins | Mike

First my praters go with you all. Stay healthy. As far as every day collecting things i would be normally doing. I have becomed house broken. My doctor has put three weeks in house because i have a bad imune system. But they are not going to beat this killer in two three weeks. So i cant send my 24 tokens out to NGC. . They take time so im mising out. It took a long time to get some of these beauties. Second i was boxing two coins to Heritage the prices over all were not good. So i decided after packaging two hours if you ever sent anything they sent two pages of instructions. One box inside another, both taped heavenly. . So i cant go to the post office there paxkaged to go but there not going i watced an auction the peices they wanted they did not receive. So im not taking a loss. Im also not buying. I did hit an auction three items. Expensive. I got them for half. It has upset even ebay.. Most of you have dealers where you live. Some have closed those that are opening may be price goughing some have retained there honesty. That affects you not me . There is not one for miles and miles from me. Call first to make sure there open. Its not going to be along one. I wrote how it has affected me. Seems small. Well those two coins going to Heritage has hurt me at a time i could more than a few bucks. So many mom and pop stores closed. I am nit getting regular mail. So im not ordering anything. Thats another problem.. Those are a few things that keep me going.. Please list some of the things that has affected you. Were i live not one. Not a sigle case. I walk out that door my luck a few days i will have it. I dont believe it. Yes and staying in can get the better on you. Fidgety how many coins can you look over and ober your coins. I found my self watching Hogans Hero's for you yns this was a show before your time and histerical after that F.Troop. Who can forget that. Those are two shows i recomend. They had me laughing. So try something like np watching something besides the news. Stay healthy Do Not Become Complacent. Thats when it will get you. My prayers are with us all. I feel like prison with no bars and the chair at the end of the hall. Good nuck to everyone. Thanks Mike

Augustus St. Gaudens

Coins | Mike

Hi everyone. I have tried this blog twice and hit the wrong button twice. The third time is the charm. This blog is a combination on a couple of blogs tied to one man. The first blog was on a commen of the Congressional Medal of Honor. While researching that it brought me to a Sergeant WIlliam Carney. He was the first person of color to win this prestigious award. He was shot five times in the battle of Fort Wagner. That was July 11 ,1863. Mr. Carney brought me to Coronal Robert Could Shaw. He led The first Afro American Brigade of the Army of the Potamic.. Now Mr. Carney was in that Brigade the 54 Massachusetts. He was shot five times and never let the flag but the ground. He lives to be 90:years old.I Shaw brought me to Augustus St.Gaudens. He was commissioned to do this magnificent sculpture. It took three years and he used forty African Americans to do it. So now we have the commen . That led to Carney who led to Shaw. We're getting there. Mr. Gaudens was born in Dublin Ireland of course. He came to New York as we would say a we one. He was six months old. Now I found one of my coins that lead to the National Parks Department commen. Struck in 2016 but done by St. Gaudens. Two coins combined out all this together. He was not just known.for coins. This one led to a status of the Puritian. It's in 21 states. This coin led to the coin maker to one of the most talented men in our country. He also did a statue of Diana. She sat on top of the old Madison Square garden.. There were two and none now resides in the Philadelphia Museum of art.I could go on and on but the pictures below will show you Augustus St. Gaudens The Man. Yes two coins led me to one of his real loves. The parks. There is a picture of a playground. Looks just like a regular lot ground. You know who it's named after. He was born in March 11,1848 Died August 3 1907. He died in Cornish,New Hampshire. But his name will leave a mark on every National park . The land the house is on has many trails and when you walk them you will come upon another scupture. Thanks. Mike.I
