Gold and Silver Panda Coin Buyer’s Guide Review

Library | CheerioCoins

A few weeks ago I got a shipment of books from the ANA library, one of which was about Silver and Gold Chinese panda coins. As you may already know, these coins are my favorite coins and that may be why I took a liking to this book and would like to share things about it.

Gold and Silver Panda Coins Buyer's Guide was written by Peter Anthony and was a great book in my opinion. The book covers dates 1982 to 2009 since the book was published in 2009. One thing I like is it features every panda coin in every size. Unlike most buyer's guides, the book doesn't give you a price on the different coins but instead shows you information and history on the coins which I really like.

Another thing about this book is that it has some show pandas/ other pandas that are for other things besides shows. Although it doesn't write about all of these special pandas it features the main ones. These pandas are quite interesting as I read about them in another book I got from the ANA library (which is a great library where if you're a member you can check out books and they will be packaged and delivered to your house) called "Chinese Show Panda Catalogue 1984-2019" which has all sorts of pandas including a panda in an astronaut suit.

This is a great book but also has some downsides too. One downside to the book is the cost, $49.88. I didn't pay this price because I got it from the ANA library and if you wanted to get this book for a little bit then I would suggest also doing the same. Of course this is the first edition and if you wanted the more updated 3rd edition the you'll probably have to buy it which is bad because it’s even more at $58.88.

In conclusion, this is a really good book that I suggest you check out from the ANA library when I send it back if you are interested in Chinese pandas!

Thanks for reading my blog and have a great day!

While I'd agree that sometimes buying a book may be a bit high, the value is immeasurable. However, obtaining them if possible before hand is a good idea to see it buying would fit your needs. I have a few which were a bargain at over a hundred each.

Thanks for letting us know the library was open. They only have 29,000 books I understand.. I started to collect them. Even got the Baby coins from the Smithsonian Institute. The 2015 is my favorite. The C.O.A. is an 8×10. It explains that this coin will be the last with the design. It came very plane with different things missing. The next year they were back in color looking great. Thank you for the blog!!
