My Membership Hasn’t Expired Yet

Coins | CoinCollector7777

Hi everyone, I just logged on to see if my membership is still active, and apparently it is. I’m probably gonna check on the website occasionally to see if I have new messages. Anyways, I don’t want this to be a short and boring blog, so I’m gonna tell a little story! So, I was at my friends house (who has a railroad right next to it) and thought “what if I put a no date buffalo nickel that he had on the tracks (I gave it to him a year or so ago) so that the train could squish it?” Well, we put the buffalo nickel and two other coins on the tracks and waiter for like 20 minutes. Turns out we missed the train by about 5 minutes (I heard it pass by right before we went outside) so we went inside. The next time the train would pass by was in like 2 hours, and I had to go, so I told my friend to get the coins tomorrow. A few days later, he brought all three of them with him and they were super flat and super wide! Sadly, I don’t have any pictures, but you can look one up online or something. Well, that’s it. Bye and see you later!

Hey everyone,I didn’t renew my membership yet, and it ran out on January 1st. I dont know when I will renew it, but why can I still follow people and post blogs? I also got the February Numismatist in the mail yesterday. My brother kept getting the Numismatist around half a year after his membership ran out, is this normal? Also, when will I not be able to post blogs and comment on them?

I Shot Two Quarters

Coins | CoinCollector7777

Hi everyone, I wanted to post a blog but couldn’t really think of anything (considering I haven’t gotten any new coins recently) but then I remembered: back in the summer, I went to this camp which had a shooting range. They had some rifles but the sights were nowhere near accurate except for one gun which was almost dead on. They had a few shotguns too, but you had to score over 20 on 10 targets (you get five shots a target) to shoot one once. I got to shoot the shotgun cuz I shotthe targets. Anyways, I was bored of shooting cans and targets. Then I had an idea. What if I put coins up on the ledge and try to shoot them? So I started trying to shoot the coins whenever I could. I tested out all the guns (there were 9) and found out which ones were the most accurate. Turns out gun 4 was the most accurate, so I used that one. But there was a problem. If I tried to shoot the coin but missed (which happened a lot) then the coin would fall off the ledge and I had to set it back up after all of my shots (I had five shots each time). So I decided to put up two quarters so I had two tries. But that means I had three extra shots. So I shot the target for practice, then tried shooting the coins. A friend also tried to shoot them (one time he got 3 bullseyes and two 9 points [the circle outside the bullseye] so I thought he would be able to shoot the coins but he gave up after a little bit). But I kept trying. I must have shot at least 15 times (which means 75 bullets) before I finally hit a quarter. The first one I hit should be the first picture. I didn’t shoot the middle, but I did hit the rim (which bent it). So I kept trying to shoot the middle (I wanted to see if the bullet would puncture the coin). After a few more attempts, I shot the coin straight in the middle of George Washington’s face which means I hit the middle of the quarter. The bullet went through, and I picked up the coin. It looked really cool and the part that got punctured was sharp and poky. I was really happy after that (although I tried shooting a nickel but failed). That coin should be the second picture under this blog. Can someone tell me if shooting coins is legal? Because I don’t think it is (but I did it anyway). Thank you guys for reading, and I’ll see ya!

Why I Haven’t Been Active

Coins | CoinCollector7777

Hey everyone, I haven’t been on the ANA in a while, and here is why: whenever I get new coins I post a blog about it. But right now I’m saving up for a phone, and I can’t spend any money on anything else. Since I like silver coins, the coins I usually want to get are more expensive (considering that I’m almost done with my collection and I need older coins). Since I haven’t gotten any new coins recently, I haven’t posted any blogs. I have about half of the money I need saved up, and I expect to get the rest during Christmas (I get A LOT). My membership expires New Year’s Day, but I should renew it by then. If not, I can do it another time in January. When I get the phone, I’ll try to finish my collection and I’ll be more active. Thanks for reading!

My Trip to the Smithsonian National Coin Collection!

Coins | CoinCollector7777

Hi everyone, I just went to the Smithsonian National Coin Collection! I saw some really cool coins (and bills), including the one and only 1849 double eagle, the 1933 double eagle, and three 1804 silver dollars! Oh, and also one of the five 1913 liberty nickels (very cool)! I would recommend going there. Now, for the pictures! The first one is me beside the safe door that locks the exhibit (face reveal!). The second one is the 1849 double eagle (pretty scratched up). The third one is the 1933 double eagle. The fourth, fifth, and sixth are the three 1804 silver dollars. The seventh is the side of a Saint-Gaudens double eagle (really thick)! The eighth is a 1913 liberty nickel. Oh, and a bonus, YNs get 100 YN dollars for visiting this very exciting coin exhibit! Anyways, thanks for reading, and see ya!

The Smithsonian

Coins | CoinCollector7777

Hi everyone, I know I haven't been active lately, but I'm working on a paper, and I can't visit the site often. (Plus my mom blocked it, so yeah) Anyways, in a few months, I'm going to visit the Smithsonian! It is where the 1849 double eagle (one of a kind) is. Also, there are a bunch of other expensive coins there and I'm really excited! Also, I get a lot of YN dollars for going there, and when I get the YN $'s, I'll bid for a Morgan dollar, because Morgan dollars are awesome! Maybe I'll bid on a Peace dollar. Or if there is any silver dollar, I'll bid on it. Anyways, thanks for reading!

My Trade Dollar!

Coins | CoinCollector7777

Hi everyone! I posted two pics under this blog of my Trade dollar I got a few weeks ago! I didn't get the pictures until now, so I am immediately posting this blog. The grade is very fine (VF), and it is slightly toned. I got it for $150 at the coin store. In the 2022 Red Book, it says it's worth $225. I was trying to get a Trade dollar for $180. The Trade dollar I got was their only Trade dollar, so I guess I can say I got their most valuable Trade dollar they had! Anyways, I hope you like it!
