The first coin I bought was a well worn 1907 Indian cent, for 25c. I did not become that involved with that series, although I always liked Indian cents.

My first trip downtown since the holiday season had to be a good one. And it was. Besides shopping and a delicious lunch, served by my favorite waiter, there was a stop at the coin shop.
I paid a visit to my local library in search of books for research. I am beginning work on a new novel, science fiction, a departure from my usual. I know SF fans are a great audience, also a tough audience. The science in the written work has to be accurate. This novel takes place among Jupiter's moons, so I spent some time in the Astronomy section.
Hot, humid day, good day to go downtown. Of course, a stop at the coin shop was on my list of things to do.

The first coin I ever bought was a 1907 Indian cent, in Good condition. The most common date, high mintage, but it was a different coin from a Lincoln cent. I got a Blue Book--I got a Blue Book before a Red Book--and learned more about the series.
