My Research Confirmed in Frank Gasparro's Biography

| DrDarryl

Back story: In 2013, I began researching the President Eisenhower Appreciation Medals . My primary research source were records held by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). My findings included mintage, designers, purpose, destruction inventory, and cataloging the series for the first time.  In 2015, I update my numismatic research findings with additional Eisenhower findings and added the Kennedy Appreciation medals to this previously undocumented US Mint medal series.

I've been sitting on some of my numismatic research finds relating to the  Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy Appreciation Medals. I've attached images of Frank Gasparro's biography that was submitted as a congressional record during his  1965 confirmation  as Chief  Sculptor and Engraver of the US Mint.

List item #5 is my research find  that connects President Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy to a series of  US Mint medals that I have been research since 2013 and documented in two of my published books.

List item #5 is the first public record that connects Frank Gasparro as the designer to these Appreciation Medals.

List item#5 confirms that my  numismatic research progressed correctly from my book 1 to book 2 by combining  the  President Kennedy  Appreciation Medals  with the President Eisenhower Appreciation Medals (book 1) to form the President of the United States (POTUS) special Government medals (sGm)  series.

My numismatic research continues for my third book....

Interesting side fact, he retired as Chief Engraver of the United States Mint persuaded by Joseph H. Segel to work at the upstart Franklin Mint. Before his death in 1992, Roberts was a wealthy man having served as the company,s Chairman of the Board. He sculpted many medals for the Franklin Mint.

Hi!!Could you do me a favor. Break this down in simpler terms.. I do not know about government medals except that everyone gets one or a coin. I have T.B.I. I have read it a few times but get lost. I do not understand a medal for one year why not four? And the connection between both president! Thanks allot.
