BIGGER IS BETTER...

Coins - World | Kepi

This was a crazy purchase!   But when I saw it at my coin dealer, I had to have it!  The size and weight mesmerized me, a kilo of silver.  It's a 2014 Australian Kookaburra, a very popular series in itself.      What's your most  "crazy, have to have" purchase?    : )

What ever you do don't get mad and through it. You could kill someone with that. Mike.

How long does this set run for? You know John Mercanti eagle coin from the Perth mint will turn into along series. That's the impression I get. Mike

I love those coins! I have never held one but I have held a 10 ounce. My cuurrent budget for coins is $100/year until I am old enough to get a job in November, BUT my must have purchase would probably be a Kilo Panda coin if they made those (that would be AMAZING!!!) but seriously now, probably a really old cent half cent, or 20 cent piece. O rmaybe all the Year of the Horse coins... SO MANY HARD CHOICES!!!!!

My must have purchase would be a near mint state Ptolemy era bronze with beautifully and sharply beveled edges. To answer your question. This hunk of silver you have here, though, has been quite distracting. I wanted so badly to find out what something like feels like in hand, but could only buy a five ounce bar. Hah. Is it big and heavy? One hand or two to hold it?

My "must have" coins are an 1804 silver dollar (a bit far-fetched, I know, but how cool it would be to have that awesome piece of history's!!!) and a 1909 S V.D.B Lincoln cent (same thing as silver dollar!😋) I love that coin! So pretty! Good find!

You know... I have to agree with you, having a 1804 Silver Dollar would be like hitting the mother-lode! : )

Again congratulations. This is becoming a habit. Very nice pickup. 37.15 ounces. If your wonderful husband gets out of hand keep it close! Haha. Very smart imagine if silver goes up to one hundred an ounce! That would help out. Again congratulations and enjoy it. Good for you.

The Kilo coin is very impressive to hold. I do not own one, but I have held one. Congratulations on your purchase. No crazy purchases on a fixed income.

I want to change my "crazy" have to have coin. I need any gold coin with a Charlotte and/or Dahlonega mint mark!

Now this is a fun blog. Beautiful coin. I am trying to collect all the 1 ounce Kookaburras. Some are pretty high but that takes time and that is fun for me. Now for my "must haves", I would say a kilo Libertad for bullion coins, and a 1907 Type 1 Standing Liberty Quarter Dollar! Thanks Kepi for the diversion with pure fun!!
