I picked up an interesting coin the other day I want to share here. It is a 2020 Samoa Silver 2 Tala. It is a one ounce of 99.999 silver, non-circulating but legal tender coin. It caught my eye for a few reasons. First it has an antique silver finish. I always wanted to see one of these in my hand. Next and most important it features a dragon-like reptile on it. I'm a dragon freak.

No doubt many of my fellow ANA members receive The Coin Update and have already seen this article. I feel the need to bring it to everyone's attention during this holiday, Memorial Day. Have you ever notice coins on the grave markers at some cemeteries' and wondered what the deal was? Here is a brief history of the practice.
As some of you may know, I am a big fan and collector of Mexican and Latin American coins. I just read in the September 10, 2018 issue of Coin World that collectors like me suffered a loss. On August 10 Don Bailey passed away at the age of 85. Don was THE source and a prominent dealer in Mexican numismatics. This is just going to be a short blog on his life. The reader may wish to read the entire article themselves.
I wanted to talk about this GIANT book and am having a problem describing it without just copying the back. I'm just going to write about why I bought it and you can check it out yourself if interested. A couple of years ago I had to bite the bullet and buy the Large Print Issue. The old eyes just didn't work well anymore. Especially at auctions and on the bourse floor. Now Whitman has published this giant Red Book that I call Mega Red! I wasn't going to buy it but I kept looking at it every-time I went to the coin store I use.
