Oddities – Black Raised Line

| Stan McDonald - author

A raised black line stems from the edge of the coin into the portrait. Something entered the minting chamber and was stamped into the coin. An oddity.

AKA a struck through error

Yes, it is. I can not determine what the material is.

I agree with AC coin$ you have a great eye. Nice error and thanks for sharing!

Not my eyes - I have passed over 250,000 Lincoln cents in 5 years through a microscope, using a 32-inch monitor. Makes it easy. I have around 200 error coins and have sold over $3,000 worth in the last two years.
