Finding Semi-Key Date Wheat Penny Coin Roll Hunting
I was able to get a box of Pennies from my local Bank. I love coin roll hunting machine wrapped rolls to see if I can find Wheat Cents (e.g. those Lincoln Cents minted from 1909 to 1958). Early Wheat Cents (from 1909 to 1933) contain many key and semi-key dates that can be worth between $20 and $2000 (or more) depending upon the grade. Well I was lucky once more and found a 1922-D semi-key date cent (among the other wheat cent finds). Come check out this hunt. Coin Roll hunting is a great way to start collecting coins.

The only 22 d I found was so hard to read I had to look under the scope for half an hour to identify it

I just bought fro the coin Vault two bags of CENTS 50 teens and fifty 1920's in the teens I found a 1918 MS 65 and in the 1920's a MS 63. Not bad and they cost 26.00 A bag. Not only that you can read everything on them. Of course there were those not worth the copper. Nine in one have 7 in the other. All the rest I would out in a book! Great blog.

And this is why I do it. Besides finding W mint quarters… lol. Finding old silver coins, and other odds and ends dates and mints, whether key or not. Congrats on the find. I have 200 cents waiting for me to go through.

Nice find a 1922 D. Coin roll hunting is a great way to find nice varieties and errors. If you know what to look for. Everyone should buy a book to identify varieties and errors to make the search even better.

I actually made (and sell) a Coin Variety Hunting Mat to help me. It's a large mat (12" x 27") and I have Penny, Nickel, Dime, Quarter & Half Dollar Key Date, Semi-Key Date and Key Varieties to look for printed on it. It's up on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/284893778026
