I've never heard of NCG . I agree with my fellow numi's here. I'm so sorry you got taken by a thief! That happened to me once and I got the Sheriff involved. Don't let this experience discourage you though. Buy the coin, not the holder.

I'd be sceptical of any slab without a hologram these days. The one's pictured are just too plain. Someone could pass them off as early slabs but the NCG instead of NGC is the tip off. Wonder how many of these are out there. Hopefully the coins are real.

mike basically summed it up but you could send them in to NGC and get an authentic grade yourself. Good luck

Hello, user_1040! I've never heard of NCG, and neither has just about anyone else worth their salt in this hobby. (I've even heard mention of another fake TPG service called P-G-C-S! Anyone who doesn't know much about the real companies of NGC or PCGS could be easily duped!) I sincerely hope you can get your money back for those improperly cleaned, AU details coins in those umm, 'slabs' - these coins are NOT uncirculated by any standard, even "market grades" based solely on the pictures you posted. (And I'd strongly suggest NOT trying to cross these over into a real NGC or PCGS holder - they won't straight grade, and you'd pretty much be chasing bad money with good at that point.) There's almost no original luster left on them, though it's kind of hard to tell with that Peace dollar (such a low relief coin to begin with.) Both coins appear to have been dipped out (improperly cleaned) beyond acceptable grading standards. (The 1904 Morgan also looks like it might have been whizzed.) At the ANA, we tend to stress the importance of buying the book before buying the coin - this is a perfect example of exactly why that is, I'm sorry to say. Please explore the available info on some of the grading courses we offer, both in person and through our correspondence program on this website. Knowledge is power, and we can help you become a much stronger collector through numismatic education! -Sam Gelberd, ANA Education Department.

I'm sorry but those are after market slabs. They mean nothing. They are available everywhere to protect your coins. Someone just typed in those numbers. Go to www.ngccoin.com to see for yourself... If you paid a ton of money call your sheriff and file a fraud report... They will do something. I've done it.. Good luck!

I just read it all over again. It say "NCG" .....Not NGC. The mind sometimes sees what one wants it to....

I should say, this is all my opinion. I could be wrong. Just call NGC on the phone. They are very nice and helpful.

There is NGC. I do not know this one. I've never seen a holder like this.

That certification number doesn't come up. I checked. I don't know what else to tell you.

Ok I'm finished it's fake I checked. There is no company NCG. They played you with NGC. That's how they got you. I doubt the coin and grade are real. They played it on the initials and used NGC list. This is why you can't sell this coin. The deal ers know.I hope I'm wrong but I don't think so. Mike.

I never heard of NCG before. I have seen the logo so many times my mistake and I apologize I never heard of this company. My initial questions were right. This is more than likely a fake. They took a holder put the coin in then typed the information How much did you pay? Where did you buy it. I knew by reading the reverse it was fake. NGC does not give out there grading standards. It's just all wrong. Sorry.mike

They maybe old holders. I checked the Red Book A 1904 Philadelphia mint State 65 goes for 60.000. When we're these sent in? . And who sent them. Do you know where you bought them? When I first looked I saw the reverse then the obverse came up. I will research it some more.mike

It does not say graded by NGC. It states by NGC standards. I have personally never seen those holders. It does not give a name of the company that graded it. There are no bar codes or certification numbers .I don't know who this company is but I can tell you NGC does not give out there grading bystanders.mike
