Fair Price?!

Coins | AZCollector

Hey all, what would you be comfortable paying for 2015 4 Coins Set America's National Monuments NIUE 1 oz Proof Silver Coins?  It is a great set, also helps with my silver collecting efforts.  I found a set for $100 bucks online, thoughts?!  I love the design, very well done in my opinion.

If you are buying for collectable and you like the coin that's a wonderful purchase. But if you are buying silver as an investment, I wouldn't because while it is up right now this is an unusual circumstance being driven by challenges to the economy which I believe are temporary. Check out the last 7 to 10 years of silver prices. They stayed between about 12.00 to 14.00 for years with out any real movement. Bullion coins are never even going to be bought back at spot price. I have bought silver bullion coins in 2012 that would bring a little less than the 19.00 spot today because of the markup when I bought them. Now if your goal is to have an emergency fund when all other sources of savings are exhausted, then I think it makes sense to get some precious metals. But think you will find, though more expensive, gold is the better value. Its more stable as opposed to the volatility of the silver market.

I understand your reasoning but Niue coins are quite beautiful, have increased in value in many cases, and are definitely going to stay strong regardless of the silver spot. This particular set, if you have a chance to look at it, is amazing.

Just check out the sellers history. I like to search for the "sold" auctions. That tells the real story. Good luck.

Thanks, all. I agree Golfer, I like what I am seeing with Silver/Silver ETF's.

If the sellers has no complaints I would go for it. Always make sure there honest. Price sounds good also. . I would pull the trigger but that's up to you.

I took a look at the set on ebay, the seller is solid, the price is very fair, and the quality will be outstanding as all NIUE NCLT tend to be. I say GO FOR IT.

Check out NCGS website for wholesale prices on those coins. You might find a dealer to negotiate a better price as dealers mark up 20 to 40 per cent. They need to make a living, but you can get a better price with a reasonable offer

100 dollars seems like a good deal. With silver around 19 an ounce. Cant go wrong. Beautiful set of coins and 4 ounces of silver? Silver is ready to clinb.
