Indian Chief Identified At Last

It was great to read in the November 2017 issue of the ANA's "Numismatist" magazine that the Indian Chief depicted on the Half and Quarter Eagle gold coins, beginning in 1908, has finally been definitively identified. The proud Indian Chief is Brule' Sioux tribe Hollow Horn Bear. It's taken over 100 years but it shows that even well known coin types still benefit from rigorous research.
