Encyclopedia of Mexican Money - Volume I

Library | Juno Moneta

Whitman Encyclopedia of Mexican Money - Volume I is an overview and history of Mexican coinage and currency. The first volume in this four-volume encyclopedia is a richly illustrated introduction to Mexican numismatics, from pre-Columbian money to the colonial era, independence, revolutions, modern coinage reforms, commemorative programs, bullion medals, and paper money.
In addition to coins, this book covers primitive money, patterns, tokens, sets, orders and decorations, and other specialized numismatic topics.
This Volume I is heavily illustrated and has 490 pages, it's 6 1/4" x 9 1/4". It has a glossary and bibliography. The future volumes will truly make this series the definitive Mexican numismatics resource of committed collectors. Volume 2 will cover Modern Mexican coins from 1905 to present. Volume 3 will encompass Early Coinage and Volume 4 will be dedicated to The Mexican Revolution.
The subject of Mexican numismatics is expertly presented by Don and Lois Bailey, they've been specialists in this field for decades. Personally, I can't wait for the coming volumes, this overview will whet your appetite for more.
