The Widow And Her Two Mites- A Lesson in Christianity

Ancient Coins | A.J.

coins in the holy land were interesting, and are great coins to collect. i have one, (but for showings, i'm showing a widows mite from online.) it was made from bronze, and was minted over 2000 years ago. it was made during the reign of Alexander Jannaeus. it has a reference from the book of Mark, stating:"And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury; and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, witch make a farthing. And he called unto him, his disciples, and saith unto them, "Verily I say unto you, This poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury"; For all they did cast in of their abundance, but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living."- Mark, 12:41If you want this coin, you can get a mint on for about $50. Its a Great way to start an ancient collection, especially because of the cheap pricing.
