Roman Coin Surfaces

Ancient Coins | CMCC

I don't collect ancients, but I think it necessary to know a little about them, so I can identify one if one happens to sneak into my collection. I have noticed on slabs the grade, then the strike and surface. For example, one of the best on eBay says MS*, then Strike: 5/5 and Surface: 5/5


Does anyone know what it means? If you do, please comment and tell me.
