1993 Argentina 25 centavos coin

Coins-World | AC coin$

As minted in this circulating Argentinian 25 cents coin, the "Casa del Cabildo" is an artistic depiction of the Buenos Aires City Hall and Mayor's office at the capital of this beautiful South American country.Even though there have been quite a few variations regarding the specifically designed minting techniques for this coin, the structure itself remained the same, as it was originally requested by Argentinian treasury officials. The name of Argentina's currency is the peso, and the "peso convertible" which was replaced briefly in 1992 by the "austral" or "star of the South" then to be called peso. Sometimes more than one type of peso was circulating in the country's markets and banks. Usually identified worldwide as AR$, or $AR the peso was divided into 100 "centavos".Here I show my 25 centavos Argentinian coin from 1993.

This magnificent and historical bill was issued by the Allied Military Government for Occupied Territories to be distributed and exchanged in France during the period of June 1945 to July 1946.It is called a French Provisional Franc note and was issued in a second attempt to stabilize the French economy and ruled out completely the notes issued by the Nazi German occupation officials. The first issue was named Supplemental note and brought in to France by the US Forces on D-Day, June 1944 to be shortly after deemed as counterfeit by ranking French officers. All, the Supplemental and Provisional French Francs notes were printed by Forbes Lithograph in Boston, Massachusetts in 1944.Now considered both a highly collectable item and a historical museum piece, this attractive monetary note is being sought by many French numismatists and others.

1944 France 2 Francs note, American Military Government

Paper Money-World | AC coin$

On August 25, 1944 the French 2nd Armored Division and the US 2nd Artillery Division were able to retake the outskirts of the City of Paris. Though they both faced German resistance the operation was a total success. Paris was Nazi free for the first time in almost four years. The banknote I show was issued under Military Allied Forces cooperation with the established French government around late August 1944.The blue 2 Francs note was US printed but French issued. It should remain as a symbol of cooperation and brotherly success among friendly liberating nations. Most of these type of notes came to USA in the hands of returning soldiers. Some remained in many European hands as well as historians and many curious collectors.

1946-1950 Haiti Cinq (5) Gourdes banknote

Paper Money-World | AC coin$

Being a stronghold of the French in rhe Caribbean, the Republic of Haiti has struggled to remain economically independent and buoyant regardless of the many obstacles it has faced thru several decades. The banknote I show here is evidence of progress and determination from the Monetary Authorities of the Haitian Republic. The five "gourdes" bill was issued among other denominations in the mid fourties, specifically 1946 and was in circulation until early 1960.It shows on the left of its obverse a woman harvesting coffee beans with an attire that could be dating late 19th century, a "5" stylized in the center depicting the note's quantity to be honored. On its obverse it shows the Coat of Arms of Haiti and the origins and denomination in French. A beautiful collectable note that evokes the importance coffee harvesting had for Haiti in the past two centuries.
