2018 America the Beautiful Quarters Coin Apostle Islands Wisconsin ... Wisconsin's Apostle Islands National Lakeshore was established in 1970 to protect ...shorelines, specific attractive sites, natural reserves and places of scientific value.
The Lakeshore site was established in 1970 as part of many other National selected places.
The coin design depicts the sea caves at Devils Island with the lighthouse in the background and a kayaker paddling in the foreground. Design candidates were developed in consultation with representatives of Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

Wisconsin became part of the union on:
May 29, 1848.

Wisconsin, admitted to the union in 1848 as the 30th state, traces its history to French explorers arriving in the early 1600s.

Still....it is a gorgeous sunset in Wisconsin's Lakeshore state site....
