Mercury dime collection.

Working on my Mercury dime collection. Only 12 more , in mint condition, to go and I will have the full professionally graded set, but really getting difficult to find the dates I need in mint condition. I have the 12 I need but the ones I have are not in great condition, G04 to XF40, and are not worth getting graded.Feels like a treasure hunt now!! LOL The photo is the latest addition a 1931 in MS65.

I’ve heard that there are actually 4 different reverse dies for the’16D, and not all are believed to be as valuable. I’m gonna have to research that. You might want to look into it as well

I have one already, VF-20, its shown in Collections and yes it was pricey. Had to compromise on it and a few others due to high prices!! Regards Doug

Nice pickup on a tough grade. What's odd, at least at PCGS, the Full Bands are slightly higher in the totals submitted across all grades. Does your's appear to be full bands and incorrectly graded? Either way, a fine specimen.

Longboard, Thanks! It does not have full bands, I think the grade is fair and its a solid 65. I looked very closely and it definitely is not FB. I have quite a few FB in the collection but what I need now, to finish the set, the premiums for FB`s aren't worth the extra expense.

It's nice to have a nice set of UNC coins but I prefer a set of coins that have done their duty, enhanced our commerce, and come to me for retirement. (:

Moke, I don't disagree and I have already made some allowances on grade due to pricing and availability. The 16 D being a really good example and Im sure Ill make more compromises!! Practical reality and all that. LOL Regards Doug
