Finally!

| Big Nub Numismatics

Today I received an email from the mint confirming my order of the 2020 Mayflower coins and finally shipping them after a month. This was after news that a mint employee had made a mistake that ended up nullifying the work done in the packaging. Seemingly some escaped the mint and ended up in collectors' and dealers' hands because many were sold "in-hand" on eBay just days after the sale went public. Between the packaging being messed up and the mint delivery that caught fire, I'm sure many other collectors have found themselves wondering what to do with their package being delayed for possibly months. If someone doesn't steal the package out from the front door. What do you guys think?

I'm glad I will be receiving my coins soon though, I might have canceled my order had it been a week longer.

On a second note, what are your thoughts on the new design bill in the house right now? This would create circulating coins with prominent female constituents of the US and honor youth sports in a program that would somewhat mimic the ATB and state quarter program.

i do not think the women will be on the coins because a couple years ago I heard that they were going to put women on bill starting 2020 but that still has not happened. Im not saying that I do not like the idea I just think the U.S mint will stall on it

Congratulations on your Mayflower set, make sure you show us the set when you finally receive it. I am not a fan of the Youth Sports themed coins, I would, will, support the prominent ladies on our coins.

They were suppose to change the design of the $20 so that Harriet Tubman was on it, this year! But they never did. (Probably because of Covid)

Nub I had heard this from someone else. This director has to go. This is a discrace. Ryder refusing the interview with Coin World I knew he was hiding something. Now will you but contact and send an email. Please. He thinks we accept this behaviour.. I have asked all of you to send emails hundreds of them. Let's shut there computers down. I'm sorry Nub and Stumpy. But this has to be said!!

BNN, you bring up a valid point that I didn't address. I too got one of those Mayflower sets. I was approved, receipt printed and computer turned off by 1205 ET (5 minutes after sale started), and this includes being kicked out of pay verification once. That was on 17 Nov, I was finally notified on 14 Dec that the order had shipped. NGCs First Release submissions must be received postmarked by 17 Dec, not gonna happen for the majority of us. The mint has issues dude, and they keep compounding the problems with more. I don't know what else to say, other than sooner or later, the incompetent managers will be replaced, hopefully before they screw the mint up more, after all membership is lower now that at any time in the last 15 years. Nice Blog and thanks.

I'm with my main man Stumpy. Not impressed with those ideas for circulating coins. Kind of like participation trophy's for kids. They don't mean much. If I end up with some, it won't be because I went out of my way to collect them.

I know it's human nature to not like change, but I'm not impressed, it seems like everything is PC feel good now, including coin design. I am not interested in coins celebrating youth sports, etc. Historical figures of any race, religious background, yes. Washington crossing the Delaware, yes! Give me some eye catching art on a coin, not a poorly etched computer art of the hubble. Eleanor Roosevelt on a quarter yes, the first woman from Alabama to vote, I could care less. Make em meaningful and I will like em. This opinion brought to you as part of the ole farts network, at no cost to the taxpayer.

Glad it worked out for you!

I bought just the Mayflower medal. Arrived very quickly. Sometimes the mint was criticized for bad packaging. I like the Mayflower medal. Although a lot of others don't like it. So many new designs on circulation coins. I don't pay much attention to them anymore. So many different quarters circulating.

Waiting for your coins to come in can seem like an eternity. I didn't know they were making a new design for a bill. Which denomination is it?

those are for the quarters
