Seeing if I'm seeing things

Coins | user_39492

Hi all, hope all is well with the community and just thought I would ask for some help with my eyes. Getting older, but better I was going through my Kennedy Half Dollars and I ran across this 1969-D and some features caught my eye. Now needless to say they produced almost 130 million silver clad JFK'S for circulation that year so it's not a rare coin, but I noticed on the reverse D/D. Now I'm not for sure if it is, but I would like this wonderful community to help this old young guy out. Thanks again for your help and enjoy your day.

I don't see the double D that much, but I do see doubling in "States of America." Does the Cherry Pickers Guide list a reverse double die for this coin? This link may help you to better identify your coin. http://www.varietyvista.com/12%20Kennedy%20Halves/DDRs%201969-D.htm

I personally don’t see it, but pictures loaded on here don’t come out good quality anyway. Either way, trust but verify. If you think it’s there, or you have someone else concurring with your find, send it in to a third party grading service, and get it authenticated. Either way 1969-D JFK halves are nice to have.

Not 100% sure, but I think Mike is right. Shows a little in the dollar.

Thanks Mike, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Still finding errors on coins that haven't been identified in the numismatic community is the greatest part of the hunt.

That may be a D/D, I can't tell because of the photo. Good find though!

Now this I relate to. Had to invest in a 10x magnifier with a light no less. Good grief.

That's kind of crazy because I had to purchase one as well and it's the best investment I feel I've made in a while.

I believe you might have a nice oddity in that coin, however, as suggested check it up the available error expertise sites. Good luck, never give up.
