Kennedy Collection

| user_45311

Finally got back to some collecting. Attended the Cleveland Coin Expo this past weekend, grabbed a half dozen Kennedy proofs out of a bargain bin for 1-3 dollars each! Decided to focus on the Kennedy series as my next project. Got 1964-1981 already, so hopefully that's a good starting point.

Sounds like you are off to a great start! I think you he Kennedy half has one of the best reverse designs

Do not give up. I have the complete set. Four a year it's very hard so I order the sets from the mint to keep all my books up to date. They went back to silver proof in the 1990s. . Don't get frustrated. It is a great coin. There is another collector on this site who collects them.

Despite not being struck for circulation since 2001, and not really circulating well prior, the Kennedy half is still a top five collectible series. And for a good reason. You're off to a great start.

Sounds like you found a treasure trove with those Proof Kennedys. I wen t to a very very small coin show in Castle Shannon PA today, lots of Morgans but not much bullion (I was hoping to by a Mexican Libertad). I did get a good deal on a 56 proof set in capital holder, that was sweet.

Sounds great! How fun that you got to go to a coin show! Enjoy collecting for your new set. ; )
