In the book, "A Guide Book of Franklin and Kennedy Half Dollars", the author Rick Tomaska explains the history, values, grading, and the rarities of the Franklin and Kennedy half dollar series.  Tomaska describes how these coins started a new era of United States coinage.  Also along with the information, the book has detailed descriptions of the coins and high quality pictures of them.  According to a well-known numismatist, Q. David Bowers, "Between these two covers is just about everything you ever wanted to know and more that you ever imagined existed!"  As I sit and think about this quote, I think that says just about everything that needs to be said in a brief summary.
