NGL, I've used EBay quite a bit for my collection. Sure, I rarely get my moneys worth from buy the sellers asking price, but EBay makes it easy to snipe their auctions. I got a 1880-0 Morgan for $8 that way.

Be very careful: Always read the whole description before buying.

Also, check his feedback score before buying. If he has feedback under 1000, take care. If his description is vague, take care. If his feedback is under 99%, take extreme care. Feedback under 99% is best not to buy, but if you want to take risks, take risks as you please. But just take this warning.

Beware of sellers trying to entice you with NNC slabs. NNC takes cleaned Morgans as DMPL or PL.

Be wary of low GSC prices - they almost never last until the end of an auction. The last few minutes and even seconds often get really wild. I've seen a few coins sell at high bids that increased by over 200% in less than 15 seconds. I had one coin as high bidder for 6 days, just 3 minutes to go. I wasn't even in the ballpark by the end.

I have also purchased from GSC. I got what I paid for and was very happy with it.

There are a few really good dealers on eBay. Some have positive feedback in the 4 and 5-digit range. There is one dealer on eBay that I know and have dealt with that has superior material and photographs it so well and fairly that often the coin looks even better than the pictures on eBay. He goes by the name Great Southern Coins, or simply GSC. I have bought about 5-6 pieces from them, and got sniped out by last-second bids numerous other times.

Greatsoutherncoin is a great seller, with a feedback score of 126,000 (last I saw), but I live Vette1986, who sells coins one per listing except for an extremely small amount of lots. The pictures are all you need, for you get just that! Vette1986 has a feedback score of 335,000 (as of 3/5/15), he has 100% positive feedback, which is rare for 10,000+ sellers, and almost nonexistent for people over 100,000, but 335,000! He has had 13 negatives, but 7 were from one annoying person! I definitely recommend vette1986 to you, he is perfect for collectors.
